There is certainly a lot behind the small grape like berry known as the acai berry, pronounced as “ah-sigh-ee”. The berry grows in the thick Amazon’s rainforest of Brazil.  The acai berry has been a delicacy for the locals of Brazil over the past 100 years.

The part of the fruit called the acai only makes up to 10% of the size of the actual berry. The rest of the fruit consists of the seed and the pit of the fruit. The acai berry is usually harvested on a large scale and is then taken through steps that help to separate the pulp from the fruit.

The acai berry was in existence within the Brazilian population for many years and has been called the legendary fruit.  In recent years, the acai berry has made its existence in America and is now gaining its popularity in many weight loss receipts.
